Description
Captive born and bred larva of the Eastern Hercules Beetle, Dynastes tityus. Unsexed. Shipped individually in deli cups of flake soil which should last as their food source for 2-3 weeks.
For full lifecycle care, check out our Dynastes tityus care guide.
Larvae have 3 distinct larval phases, or instars, separated by molts where their head capsule will noticeably enlarge. L1 (larval phase 1) lasts roughly a month after hatching; L2 lasts 1-2 months; L3 typically lasts for 10-14 months. Included with each larva will be a “beetle birth certificate” which details important dates in your larva’s life.

I had never raised a beetle before, but I totally fell in love with this little dude and the whole process. They really know their stuff and happily answered all my questions. I used their flake soil which was great but they also provide great resources like how to make your own. Awesome experience overall!

I received two L3s in excellent shape– these guys were CHONKY. Anytime I had questions, Hailey was a knowledgeable resource, and it’s clear that the well-being of the beetles is her priority. This will be my only source for Eastern Hercules beetles from here on out.

Amazing order! I only ordered one L1/L2s but I got two instead! Both are healthy and wiggling about. So so happy, I can’t wait to watch them grow and get nice and chunky. I already love them and they’ve been in my house for an hour, they fit right in with my other buggies and assorted invertebrates. Hailey was super helpful and I highly recommend. Definitely ordering from here again.

Got my lil guy as a L3 months ago and now he is currently in his pupate phase!! Honestly such a good price for the lil guy and the seller is super nice. I asked questions as its my first time raising a beetle larvae and they were so helpful and responded same day. I will definitely be getting more after my lil guy becomes full grown!

The larva I got was healthy and chunky and today it emerged as a male beetle! I’m already obsessed with him. I’ll definitely be purchasing more larvae in the future.
